Yoga Tourism

What is Yoga Tourism?

It is believed that originated in India about 5,000 years ago. It is believed that, Adiyogi who was the first yogi, transferred the art of yoga to the seven sages, popularly known in India as the Saptrishis or the Seven sages.

Being at peace with oneself is a fundamental goal of yoga as it connects our breath, body and mind and hence, make these three work in unison. Prana or our internal life force is the core focus of Yoga and practitioners have stated a wide range of benefits to their body and mind after regular yoga practice. Pranayam and Aasanas form two key types of yoga practices.

Pranayam focuses primarily on breath control and to make the mind steady, whereas, aasanas are performed with movement of body parts with controlled breathing. Many aasanas are derived from nature like Mayur aasan from Peacock, Chakrasan from a wheel, Matsyaasana from Fish etc.

Himalayas have traditionally been the seat of Rishis who have performed meditation and yoga. With the progress of time, the power of yoga has been realised by a common man and now Yoga is becoming a part of the regular day-to-day life. This opens up a bigger opportunity of learning and practising Yoga for a healthy lifestyle.

There have been many new initiatives by the Government as well as the bodies like Art of Living, Patanjali and many other organisations. Yoga learners from countries like US, UK, France, Canada are also coming to India and to learn Yoga and spread the wealth of health and happiness all across the globe.

We believe that the next decade will position India as the cynosure of Yogic learning and precursor of good health and happiness in the world.
